A curious film Kate. I really like the confusion of actual painterly effects and digital ones. The colour has the vividness of the screen image, yet has the feel of paint. Maybe it's something to do with the dissolves and the slight movement of the camera viewpoint between shot. It gives the sense of shifting paint. The film leaves me with lots of questions. Did you paint the portraits knowing that you were going to paint over them? Do the titles remain although their figurative reference points have been submerged?
